How it fits together

The data in this application is organized hierarchically to reflect the structure of business processes and their automation. Workflows belong to Processes, Steps define Workflows, and Automation Rules can be part of Workflows or specific Steps. Execution logs track these activities, and Media provides supporting documentation across multiple levels.

• Workflow belongs to Process — Each workflow is a component of a larger business process.
• Step belongs to Workflow — Individual actions or stages are defined within a specific workflow.
• Automation Rule belongs to Workflow (and also Step) — Rules govern the automated logic within a workflow or at a particular step.
• Execution Log belongs to Workflow (and also Automation Rule) — Logs track the runs of workflows and specific automation rules.
• Media belongs to Process (and also Workflow, Automation Rule) — Supporting files and documentation can be attached to processes, workflows, or individual rules.
• Process — is a standalone, top-level entity representing a core business function.
